I think you're mistaken antiquefloorman, they're not mixed with PRL or PBL, they are PURE LINE BKK or PURE LINE WR, basically, they are kept separate from other, Pure line BKK breed only BKK, pure line WR breed only WR.

Why would they be more expensive than standard TBs that might be heterozygotes for coloration? Plus, WR will never produce BKK, so they are already "Pure Line" right? Or are there some other genes involved here that are being bred out of them?

So, presumably, these Pure Line RR and WR don't have any black shadowing on their reds. That WOULD be nice.

They're also untainted by CRS or CBS, which I believe is now considered a bad thing in the TB world.

of course, any way to keep the TB price up lol.

since there are more mischlings now, I guess these "pure" will get TB price back up. And for the "mischling" TB, price will go down like crs.

The breeders are trying to change our perspective on TBs, like crs even a $3.50 shrimp almost look as good prl.

I wonder how touchy these shrimp are then?

Taint = survivability.

I'm sure they're all headed to Japan, anyway.

Aren't all Taiwan Bee shrimp descendants of one original BKK? It doesn't seem like there could really be any true "pure" lines since the original shrimp had to be bred with CRS/CBS in order to make more of them in the first place.
