Can someone explain why there are two numbers(I think they mean that each bag may contain between ## and ##?), I don't know all the abbreviations though, can someone tell me them?! I just want to compare these numbers to Eco-Complete, then we'll know which maybe better...

The larger amount of nutrients found in Eco Complete can by no means be taken as proof that it is better for plant growth than Seachem Fluorite.
What matters is how much of these nutrients are available to plants over which period of time. If these nutrients are all irreversibly bound to the substrate they do you no good. On the other hand, if they all wash out within the first week in the tank, they are just as useless. What really matters for a good substrate is the ability to store nutrients in a form that makes them available to plants. I have no idea whether Fluorite or Eco Complete wins out in that category, I just know that the nutrient content can be very misleading or meaningless. |
