Ehiem canister filter question

Is it typically for the Ehiem 2234 canister filter to have air at all times in the outflow tube. I have had the filter running for over 24 hours, I add a spray bar to the outflow this morning and now it has air in it.

I have the 2236 and I've never noticed air in the outflow. I also added a spray bar today, as well as a CO2 reactor inline in the outflow. Now that all the bubbles have cleared I'm getting no air at all from the spraybar.

Maybe you need to re-prime it to clear all the air?

I have already done that a couple of times. I have my uv lamp on the inflow tube had to mod some bigger tubing over the inflow pipe to get the uv to fit, but everything is under water. Maybe I will just wait for a day or so and see what it is doing then.

Sounds like air is getting in from your intake mod. I wouldn't put anything on the intake side, personally.

That was the only place I could put my uv light without using a power head. And the tubing I used fits very snugly on the intake tube. I can not place it any further down as the uv light is almost touching the bottom already.

So I took off the uv sterilizer and replaced the intake tube with the one we bought off fleabay. It was the Ehiem install Kit #2 and install kit #1 that are sold for the ehiem. I still have the problem of air bubbles coming out of the spray bar. What else could I do to stop this. I have reprimed the filter about four times and every I let it go till no more air comes out the spray bar, then I flip the handle to engage the filter, after that I still get some air bubbles although not as many as before. I also made sure both connections were under water.

I shake my eheim when I fill it up to get all the air out of the top. If I don't the filter isnt dead silent and I get air bubbles for a day or so. Mine is a 2213 though
