Feet for my light strip?
I have a coralife dual bulb strip light across my tank, and it sits right on top of the glass hood.
Is there anything I could get short of a macguyver job to raise the light a foot or so? my light looks like this:

no.. it looks exactly like the photo i attached, no extenders... just sits on the canopy like that.. well the 2 sides of the light sit right on top of the frame of the tank, so it doesnt put any weight on the canopy at all

Search for Aqualight legs, though they will only raise it 2 -3 inches above the tank rim.
If you need it mounted higher, you'll have to DIY a pair of L-shape conduit legs to hang it or maybe fashion a pair of metal legs that rest on the frame of the tank.

Just curious as 2 y u would want 2 do that? I am running 2 dual bulb Coralife fixtures. each fixture has a Coralife 6700K & a Zoo Med Flura Sun bulb & they both sit right on my glass canopy w/ no issues @ all. Not downing your idea just curious.

Heat build up on the glass. After so long with them on the glass, the glass will eventually shatter. It's happened before. Had a whole mess of broken glass from a 180gal from a 36" light! Just think about glass being heated up and cooled several times a year. Just like if you have a hot glass of water and you add a lot of ice, the glass will shatter. |

mullenium - I am unaware of any commercially available 1' "legs" for that particular fixture. I imagine you will need to mcgyver it as suggested above or by using a suspension kit modified for your situation. |
