Simple, it really comes down to personal preference. Both work great and do a good job.

I can't vouche for fluval because I have never own a fluval filter of any kind. But I do have eheim filters

So eheim the way to go.

I actually picked up a fluval today, just hooked it up, no issues with it, i've had an eheim2211 that ran for a long time. So far i see little difference between the products, i say go either way.

Doesn't really matter. Both work very well. I'd say it more depends on what the price and gph of what you're interested in.
