Another BBA thread
I got a small piece of driftwood with 2 anubias tied to it with rubber bands and one small tiny java fern totally rooted to it from my LFS (they sell driftwood both dry, and in their tanks that already has plants tied to it)
so i already had a piece of driftwood from petsmart (probably malaysian) that ive cured and have had in the tank since the start, but the LFS driftwood developed some BBA so I took it out since its so small.. took off the 2 anubias and tried to let it sit in hot water with liquid co2 leaving the end with the java fern sticking out. once the water started to cool i flipped the wood and dunked the java fern side a bunch of times then poured hydrogen peroxide all over the piece. after rinsing with dechlorinated water i put it back in the tank and about a week later more BBA spots are popping up. i went out and bought a pippette to try squirting the liquid co2 on it while submerged in the tank.. but since its small enough i can remove it again and I dont want to overdose my tank with the liquid co2 and harm my shrimp.. my cherry shrimp love this piece of wood though so i hate removing it and disturbing their sanctuary. any suggestions? maybe i need to add more liquid co2 to the hot water? I dont want to kill the java fern, and i cant remove it, so im kind of stuck |

I probably shouldnt have bought driftwood from an existing tank.. even if its from a reputable LFS.
I had just got done boiling and rinsing the other petsmart piece I had, and didnt want to go through that process again |

Where did you get it at?
I'd just pull it out and put straight hydrogen peroxide on it. Just don't get it on the plants. Let it sit 15 minutes, rinse off and throw it back in.
