Spixi Snails

Several years ago I had Asolene Spixi snails. They were prolific breeders, beautiful, efficient, and stayed reasonably sized.

I have been searching for these again, but haven't been able to find them anywhere.

Anyone know where I could find them or why they are no longer available?

Yepper. They've been made illegal to cross state lines. So you would have to find a breeder in MO for yourself.

Well, boo. Guess I should start searching. I'm sure someone in this state still has them.

It take it they became invasive?

Hey! I've been super curious as to what plants they eat? I'm a staple moss and Anubias man. How would they do in a moss majority tank?

I used to feed mine Anacharis, and they never seemed to bother the moss in the tank. Could have been that I just didn't notice, lol

Miss these little guys :-(

I learned they also eat ramshorns, pond snails and their own young! Wow.

Gotta say that I never noticed that, but I've heard it as well. I kept them in a snail only tank with Mystery Snails, Ramshorns, MTS and (of course) pond snails. All did well, *shrug*, maybe I just got lucky, lol :-)
