20g planted apisto tank, DIY Co2 advice

Hi there all!
I have been reading this forum a lot recently having rekindled my passion for aquatics. I've got a 20gallon planted tank with breeding apistogrammas, tetras and corys.

I would like to set up some Co2 for my tank but I need some advice. The guy in my lfs obviously wants me to buy his top of the range kit, but i cant justify the cost and I've done some research and think with a tank the size of mine I could easily get away with doing it DIY style, trouble is I don't know where to start. Any advice is welcome and appreciated, speak to me like a child though please, I'm literally clueless and words like "diffuser" mean nothing to me at the moment. Please help!

Thanks for reading

Benjy

Why not try some liquid Co2 or some liquid plant fertilizer?

This is the method I use, and it works like a charm. http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9916. My Jell-O lasts about a month, and I just change out the yeast water every two weeks. It's been running like this for a few months with no problems.

Magnum I dose ferepol weekly when I do water changes.

Redtail that looks fascinating, I will have to give the jel-o method a go and see how it works out for me.

Thanks again!

Right quick update, today i got the last few bits i needed. And created my bottle and bubble counter. My next question is this - once its all up and running, how many bpm should i be aiming for with a 20g aquarium? Its not fully planted, i've got some stargrass at the back, a few crypts, java fern, moss and some swords.

Cheers guys,

Benjy
