Default Aquarium Club

I am sorry that I didn't post a link and I am glad that you found the site. Here in Ithaca it seems our only Aquarium Club is at the high school. Hmmm.. I might be a bit too old. I thought visiting the auction in Syracuse would be fun and that I might learn a bit too.

Naw totally cool

Just get there at 11am and be prepared to be amazed because there's A LOT of plants animals and equipment there. If you find something you want and don't want to wait around for that table to be auctioned you can pay a $2 premium and they'll bump you to the front of the line. When I say a lot I mean they go till well after 7pm at a good clip. Well worth the trip. It's a full school gym worth of stuff.

Wow that sounds incredible. I hope I can make it over there too but it's a 2.5 hour drive for me :/

I'd really love to check out the general meeting too. Bummer they're on wednesdays though :/

Well tbh, I've never been to a monthly meeting. And trust me, it's a genuine PITA for me to get out there where the auction is. They hold it in East Undershirt!

Hehe Dansville sounds good to me. That's only a 25ish minute drive away from me :P Much better than a 2.5 hour drive to Syracuse

Default Where in NY?

:P we each could bring a dish to eat or pick a place to go out, then swap and shop after.

It is closer to me than 'Cuse as well

Now I can't wait, though it sounds like it will have me planning on a new tank during the first ten minutes. =) I will definitely be interested in the plant selection. The LFS here has a very limited selection.

I am definitely going to the CNYAS auction! Sounds pretty amazing. Too bad it's only once a year.

Disclaimer: I have not been to a meeting.

They supposedly have auctions at every meeting, just nowhere near as extensive as the yearly one. You might want to ask the mailing list what the deal is if you're interested. Don't get excited if it takes 3-4 days for a reply though.
