I was drilling holes in the bottom. Tempered glass break likes because all the stresses release when drilled. It can't be drilled.

Normal glass, which the sides were made out, can be drilled.

Funny thing was I posted the picture online a few of my girl friends were like "ooo that would be an awesome coffee table"....yeah, exactly what I was going for.

+10k I wouldn't take millions to be that age again...

Keep an eye on Craigslist! Tanks can be found relatively cheap if you have patience.

Good Luck!

I promise it does get better though! And don't give up on fishkeeping! You'll need something to turn to to keep you sane through highschool. Hobbies are very important!

LOL
Well at 15 it's allowed to be your worst week over all.

Never mind, in 1978, when I was a a year or so older than you I built my first tank out of icecream fridge lids and Silastic. Sliced my hand open on the cut glass. Not a great start.

Head to travel 20 miles to an Aquarium shop for fish
Killed my first fish by leaving a 20ml test tube in the tank, stupid danio swam in but couldn't back out.

Shook the Tetra fish food tube over the tank one day and the lid came of. Instant porridge.

Not long after that we had power strikes in winter and lost the lot.

35 years later I'm still going at it, although last night I forgot to put the middle blue filter back in the Eheim and tipped the matrix into the noodles. Doh!
Spent ages picking it all out.

My chin hit the floor and I stared at it for a bit. I then laughed at myself, thinking what a dumb ass I was for not realizing the bottom was tempered.

Well I just recently found dragonfly nymphs in my taiwan Bee tank housing $$$$ of shrimp. After catching like 18 of them, and realizing a person on aquabid gave them to me I was mad. See it they eaten about 500% in adult shrimp and probably 1000+$ in babies. I had to tear the tank down, throw out nearly 500$ in moss (Fissidens mini Fissidens Xmas and mini Xmas moss). Then to go to my hybrid tank yesterday and remember I threw some moss triming s from the Taiwan bee tank in there a month and a half back. Come to check that tank and find 2 more in there from them hidding in the trimmed moss (2 softball sized clumps) I threw in there. If I had to guess in total $ value of loss over 2500.... Lesson learned, by from those you know and trust!

Mines doesn't seem as bad, but it's HORRIBLE to me. Well here is the story:
I went to get some Red Rili shrimp from this LFS that was having a sale because it was closing. The tank was FILLED with green hair algae (no idea what it's called) and the guy used a NET to get my shrimp, and I wasn't even looking. 4 weeks later. All my plants are COVERED in algae. I'm pretty mad at myself for NOT looking into the freaking bag. It was night time outside (where the tank is at), so I just dumped them in, because I had to go to a Laker game. The next morning, I didn't see any of it. (Weird) But then a week later, I saw some little hair algae on the mesh of my filter, and I thought it was just the "marimo's babies", but it was actually the ALGAE! Fast forward 4 weeks later, and I'm starting to see hair algae on my dwarf sag/ moss. I can't believe I didn't even notice it, and I thought it was marimos. -__-

Just figured I would share with you Kinection but your Marimo ball is algae , but either way I understand you not wanting to see stray algae around the tank.
