Turtle Tank (anyone keep them?)

Anyone know anything about Florida Mud Turtles? They only get to about 4 inches long.

Love the new amphibians forum , I have 2 RES, in a 160 gallon pond that's only 2/3 full, soon to be framed in, and a whole new filtration set up, along with a nice big basking area.

Is anyone's slider shy? Mine won't bask when there's activity in the room, and when we come in on him he panics like walking in on a teen in the bathroom.

Mine has been in his tank with the basking area for a good 5ish years now... he'll still freak out if I surprise him while he's basking. I've started making a little bit of noise when I walk into the room now, so he knows I'm coming and don't startle him. He'll still sometimes get a little skittish and dart into the water, but very rarely goes berserk anymore.

From time to time he'll stay up there while I'm in the room, and look at me as if to say, "oh hell, you know what? I'm not going to jump in the water just because you're here. I'm warm and comfortable and I'm not moving."

The Cumberland slider never ate any of the above water plants, however the little yellow bellies do like to eat anything they can reach. The aluminum plants in the rafts can not keep any roots or leaves. I have moved two into the planters. None of the plants can keep any roots out of the planters like they used to because of the little ones.
There are no plants under the water because all three of them will destroy anything that goes in. When I find leaves on the overflow of my 125 I toss them in to be eaten.
The planters and most of the plants came from hydrophyte (member on here)
