I seem to have a kind of algae growing quite madly in one of my tanks and I"m not sure what it is.
When it "blooms" individual strands no more then 1/16th of an inch long can be seen drifting in teh water. These strands eventually anchor themselves to an object or the tanks glass. This algae is a royal green, soft, and very fast growing.
Amano Shrimp and SAE's love the stuff, and I have been culturing some of it just for them. When this stuff gets into a bloom it is terrifying how fast it can reproduce. In a matter of 2-3 days it can cover every object in my 45 gallon tank.
I'm keeping it under control now, and I am adding some fast growing plants to try and choke it off for good but I still have no idea what it is.
Any suggestions?
