Finnex RAY II and shimmer effect
I was thinking about ordering the Finnex Ray 2 30" for my 29 gallon tank. I been looking at youtube videos that have this lighting and I am not noticing any shimmer coming from these lights. Can any tell me if this is true or can it be just the video not showing it?
If I opted to go with diy 3 watt cree leds (mix of cool/warm), how many would be needed for the 29 gallon 30" wide tank for medium to high lighting? Last edited by PhilthyMcnasty; 01-17-2013 at 12:20 AM.. Reason: forgot a word |

I have a Fugeray on my 36 bow, lots of shimmer. The floor around the tank looks like some sort of special effects
It does require surface movement, no ripples = no shimmer

Looks like the Fugeray has the leds spread out further apart then the Ray 2 which would give it a better shimmer. Fugeray will also only give me low-medium lighting.
Anyone else using a Ray 2 that can tell me about how much shimmer it gives? Thanks |

I have two of the Ray II's. They do have a nice shimmer effect also.
