Algae all over my Java moss........AAAAAAHHHHHHHH

Hi everyone....I just got my tanks back in shape after about 3 years of neglect....got them cleaned up, planted and ready.....BUT, my Java moss is being taken over my algae....it looks like BBA, but Im not sure.....I dose with API Co2 booster daily, run my lights(low tech-nothing bright-2 48"inch bulbs. I fl. and 1 Plant gro. Less than 1 WPG) 12 hours a day, with a 2 hour [censored][censored][censored][censored]-off period mid-day,dont overfeed and theres good circulation as well....the BBA isnt forming anywhere else..matter of fact, the other plants are booming in growth!!..plus, I do 30% weekly water changes, and dose Flourish at the time if the water change....Ive got it planted with Cabomba, Anacharis, many crypts, swords, Java fern, Bacopa, but my Java moss is a MESS!!! Please, tips here would be SUCH a huge help!!!!

I'm a newbie so I don't know enough about BBA to help out but I did a quick switch and found this.

It's all about dealing with BBA.

Are you sure it is BBA? A photograph would be very helpful.

Java Moss tends to accumulate a lot of detritus, so that may be mistaken as algae, if all your other plants are doing fine and BBA is not appearing in the rest of your aquarium. A good squeeze of the Moss should release quite a bit of detritus if it has accumulated.

"with a 2 hour shut-off period" - you most likely replaced the U with another letter resulting in a swear word that was automatically censored by the filter.

This site filters offensive language. Each letter receives a [Censored].

Pictures are infinitely helpful

As a planted tank newb, me just say, my topics don't always get the kind of attention I would hope, but at the same time if you *really* buckle down and do your research while waiting for a response you'll probably get things most of the way dialed in and be that much more ready when better advice comes along. Nobody here gets paid to help and I'm just happy to have a place that offers any personalized advice after I've exhausted a couple of searches.

TPT says I'm an algae grower... I'd like to think of myself as one hell of a Cabomba farmer.

Java moss collects a lot of debris so it is best placed where there is a lot of water movement like in front of filter outflow etc. and occasional hands on cleaning does the trick in keeping it clean.

Ive got the moss on top of an artificial log....could it be too close to the lights?? Should I maybe attach it to something lower in the tank??
