Betta Macrostoma VF Wild catch

Hi all i am new to the forum here.Hi to all some great looking tanks.

Though a few here would be interested in my new betta macrostoma vf.

Very excited to get the pair breeding have been waiting nearly a year to get

my hands on this fish as they are next to impossible to get here in Norway.

Currently in the process of setting a 112 litre tank for the pair to breed in .

They are in a holding tank for now and are showing all the signs of ready to

breed.

Few snaps the quality is not very good as i took with my phone but when i

get them in the tank i will snap a few nice shots with my camera.

Thanks , i will be getting them in the tank later.
I have to go collect them from my holding tank in a while now :-)
Must collect the lady first then i can sneak off he he :-)
Will post some pictures of the tank there going into later just finished putting te last of the plants in today :-)

Excellent choice of fish. These are probably one of the best looking fish in the entire hobby.

Not easy to look after or breed, but people have started having success. Try contacting Colin Dunlop in the UK if you need specific advice.

well here it is i finally got all done today.

Tank is fully cycled and all readings are good and the pair are finally in the tank

and doing great.They have been flirting since i let them go and male showing off

allot

Yes this tank is setup especially for breeding with them.
I have high hopes they are ready to go and getting well settled in.
I expect it will take some time to tweek everything just right but i have some great info fro breeding of them from a man who was very successful in hongkong.
I expect the male to eat the first few batches of eggs until he realises to keep them.
The trick is lots of hiding places and the correct ph when the male is holding otherwise he will swallow them.I have a friend who has managed one time to breed a pair he had 4 years ago here in norway he works at the local pet store and also breeds allot of other fish including L046 which i finally got to breed for me after 8 months of tweeking and going mad he he.

I waited so long for these fish :-) and now i have been told i can get another 2 pairs if i want lol . Always the way.Usually they are impossible to get here.
