Happens with my tibees, OEBTs, and the one CBS. When I had a colony of over 20 OEBTs, it didn't happen with all of them, just the larger females which tended to have the brownish hues on their tails (3 separate sources on those OEBTS) The OEBTs in there now are Germans from Nick's source, not going to be any close wild tiger or super tiger genes in there I wouldn't think. The CBS female has the brown tints but not my males, granted she is my only CBS female. It doesn't happen with all my tibees either, just the ones with the brownish hues on the tail (which is generally the females but I do have a male or two with it).

And of course, based on other posts here there are more than just tigers that have the brown/orange tint to the molts

I see all kinds of other colors and strange things in various molts. Just haven't seen the brownish orange thing in anything but a few of my Tigers. Now I'm going to have to pay more attention.

I had 2 molts last night with my oebt's and they both had the orange tinge you speak of. Pretty sure they were males as my 2 remaining saddled females are not berried.

Default TB molts

Huh! I didn't realize this wasn't common knowledge, lol. For me it's plain as night and day whether a CBS or a neo has molted in my tank. Interesting that that's not true for everyone. And yes, I mean in the same tank, same conditions.

This was just posted by soonhong on another forum, but shows some colors in the molt itself:

Default TB molts

Wow, Bryce. I'd have thought that was the remains of a dead shrimp if you didn't say it was a molt.

I'm unsure if that is because of the high concentration of color in this shrimp, or because of a freshness of molt.
