As we're trying to limit the amount of unsightly things inside the tank, an inline solution would be preferable, but the only products I've found don't seem to have adequate heating capacity. I'm looking for suggestions.
+1 on the Hydor inlines. I've only heard great things about them. And woohoo! More Louisianians. Where you from brother?

As said, Hydor inlines make a lot of sense. I wonder if you run the in series if they will work if you need more than 2 or don't want to split your outflow.

The other solution is this: http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=36257

Then you can choose any heater you would like. I would consider two design changes though. First, use clear PVC so you can see if any air gets trapped. Second, add some valve on top so you can purge any air out. This way will give you more flexibility but will like reduce flow more.

In series? I run one on my fx5 for a 100 gallon tank and it works like a champ solid 78 degrees 7 days a week, doesnt seem to come on very often either 300 watts inline is alot of heat. The fx5 is wide open too.

Security Question
While balancing on a piece of wood, two inches by four inches known as a 2x4, John and his friend Sally both spotted a dalmatian inside of a truck with sirens. The animal with John and Sally is a _ _ _?
