DIY dosing pump??
hey ive been having some thoughts about a diy dosing pump.
I read through the autodosing sticky in the equipment forum and started googling aaround and found a motor and pump head for $14.99. only thing is is that its from hong kong. I dont really feel comffy ordering from there but they are cheap. so my questions are has anyone used this??? and would you be able to control this pump with the Arduino or a similar unit??? I'm not electronicly challenged but i am when it comes to programing. Also does this sound like its do able and worth it?? i have found a few reviews for the marine magic unit and they say its very consistant and i believe this pump is a replacement for what they use in that. Anyone have any experience with the launch pad from ti?? ( MSP-EXP430G2) sorry for the rambling have really striaghtend out my thoughts yet Last edited by mr_bob; 01-24-2012 at 12:06 AM.. Most of us have ordered lots of stuff from china, great quality most of the time, and cheap.

well i just came to the conclusion that this is going to be alot harder then planned. coding in c is a pain in the but and coming from very little coding experience doesnt make this an easy task.
If anyone has any resources for programming in c and have time based triggers let me know. |

what you need is a DS1307 real time clock. They sell breakout boards on sparkfun for this. There are a few different arduino libraries you can try that also come with example code that you can easily modify to suit your needs. just google "arduino DS1307".
