critter ID please


about 1 1/2 cm with 3 tail fins. head looks like a dragonfly. What is it and will it harm my tanks inhabitants??

Probably a dragonfly larvae. Could catch and eat shrimp and small fish.

you are right qquuaadd. googled it and it is a dragonfly larvae (schnura verticalis). I guess i'll QT everything from my LFS now after I disinfect. thx guys

Its been said time and time again

This is a larval stage.. It DOES NOT lay eggs. Only adults do.
But where there is one there is more, thus why people think they lay eggs.

Just keep an eye out for any more. Dragonfly larvae nymphs can definitely kill fish. They're vicious little guys.

And correct. They do not lay eggs in this stage haha.
