Metal stand wood wrap around

I have a metal stand for my 55 and would like to make a wood cabinet look a like wrap around. Any pictures or suggestions would be great. Thanks

I am planning the same thing on a 55... It's a project for this spring, basically building a furniture-quality enclosure around a terrible looking metal stand I picked up for free. I will post up some pics when I start the build.

Two quick ways. First is to just use plywood (cabinet grade oak for stain. HD has sandeply but don't remember the cost.) If you can find 1/2" cabinet grade that will be fine. Just Make a three sided wrap. Make sure that the outside measurements of te stand are the INSIDE measurements of the wrap.Glue it together and add molding to finish it. Make sure grain runs top to bottom not side to side.
Second way would be to use face frames. Side frames are the size of the stand front is the size of the stand plus the thickness of the side frames. Doors for the front panels in a groove on the side frames.

The first method assumes no doors on the front. You could do a combination and use a face frame with doors for the front and plywood for the sides. Again the face frame overlaps the plywood sides and covers the plywood edges. Then the whole thing slides around the stand to cover it.
Can't see why you'd want to cover a beautiful metal stand. I love them.
