Light Advise for new Tank

Looking for either T5 HO or LED's

Tank will be somewhat high tech, as I do have high pressure CO2, ferts.

Will be a mix of plants from micro sword, dwarf hair grass.

Thank is 48x18x25. So it rather tall.

I don't have a ton to spend, but would like something nice. Don't need timers as I already have timers in my cabinet.

Why not CFL?
I have been lighting my 75 with similar dimensions for years with compact fluorescents with great results.

http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/stor...oducts_id=1842 should give you medium intensity light, around 50 micromols of PAR, and would give reasonably uniform intensity over the whole tank. That should be plenty for growing almost any plant, as long as you also use CO2, but it wouldn't force you to use the maximum amount of CO2 the fish could survive with.

CFLs work perfectly fine....esp if you get the 'daylight' bulbs that burn at at 5000-6500K which simulates sunlight. But if you have the budget to go hightech then I'm assuming you will not resort to CFLs for your light source.

Thanks for that, they have one other that has 3 bulbs, and it bit less money. 3 54watt. Not that I need it, but for less money and getting more, well worth it.

What would you suggest for bulbs? I guess those are my options.
