Im stocking my 20 Gallon High tank with a school of cardinal Tetras

Tank is 24in long, 16in high

It will be planted with Some Vals, Water Sprite, and red melon sword plants

How many Tetras can I safely shock in this set up?

I have a 40 gallon tank that I stocked with 20 cardinals among other fish. Admittedly, it is overstocked, but the tank is functioning well. I increased the filter capacity to handle the larger number of fish. If you want to play it safe, I would say no more than 10-15? The look great when they school.

i was looking at 15-25 ....

i know there's the one inch per gallon rule, but i figured with weekly water changes , they can still be happy n healthy

I'd say the tank being "high" has more to do with stocking than the other aspects

+1 to that, especially if there are other fish in the tank.
With Cardinals, having a mature, pretty stable tank goes a long way in keeping them alive.

The tank is cycled already, I had blue Danios in there for a few months now.

Personally I would start off with 10 and see how they do. Cardinals have a reputation of being tough to acclimate depending on stock and tank conditions.

15 would be my max. That will give you some room for other fish.
