VorTech pump placement

Hi, I'm curious if there is any logic to placement of VorTech pumps; how you decide exactly where to put it.

In my 90gal tank I place my MP20 Vortech on the left side (short wall) of the tank, a few inches from the front glass 8.5 inches down. So about a third down, blowing current across the front glass from left to right. With this depth it gives a gentle ripple as seen from the top. I also have loc-line outputs from filters, pointed toward lower thirds of front glass.

I like the VorTech and it was highly recommended. I do notice that fish tend not to swim much in viewable space, likely because of the front-glass current. And wish that was different.

I use mine for saltwater applications, but I would assume placement would be about the same. I tend to put mine on the short side of the tank blowing lengthwise across the tank, placed in the middle of the pane (left to right) and above the halfway point but low enough not to create a vortex at the water surface. This will depend on your max power setting.

In my opinion, if there's so much current the fish won't swim in it then there's too much current. You just need enough current so the leaves sway gently which shouldn't be overwhelming for your fish. I would turn down the flow or direct it in some direction as to deflect it.

Security Question
While balancing on a piece of wood, two inches by four inches known as a 2x4, John and his friend Sally both spotted a dalmatian inside of a truck with sirens. The animal with John and Sally is a _ _ _?
