Well then, If I make it out that way in the next year I'll have to check out some of the awesomeness of the setups you'll all be running then.
I'd love to get some shrimps, and Plants sometime in the not too distant future.

You could move closer. GR made Forbes top 10 cities to work in list. Just FYI
Also how do you like the peacocks? I am thinking once I move they are one of the nano fish I may breed. |

I love them. This was one of the fish I was fish I was trying to get for awhile ended up going to a LFS that was like 45-1 hour from me and they were all out. Then late last year I found some at a auction and then yesterday I just picked up 8 more. Right now I have a male that is really mean. I just hope I can get them to breed. It's nice to see them when they color up more they are beautiful fish.

We stopped at Preuss' on Sunday and I'm glad we did! Pretty neat place. It was crazy busy and all the staff were still very friendly. I had to wait my turn for for someone in freshwater to become available, but the guy that helped me was very helpful and patient as I asked him question after question. It was great to see some of the fish I'd been reading about up-close and in person.

They had a wall of tanks dedicated to plants. I'm not super familiar with all the varieties yet, but it seemed like they had a good selection to me. I saw a variety of stems, mosses, and a tank of floaters. Names I specifically remember seeing include glosso, different types of ludwigia and vals, a bunch of micro sword in little pots, christmas moss, java moss and java fern, and I think some tiger lotuses. I was admittedly more focused on looking at fish, hehe.
They had some red variations too but they weren't very vibrant. Overall they seemed to be in much better shape and health compared to what I've seen at other LFS (including Bluefish, whose plants seem so sad to me). They also have some very nice display-only tanks showcasing plants and fish that are comfortable and healthy. It was helpful for me to see adult sizes in some fish as well as what their colors can look like when not stressed. Same goes for the plants in these tanks.

You don't see to many LFS that have nice selection of plants.

They normally have a great selection of plants. They of a few plant geeks there. Did you see the rainbowfish tank? I love that display and the angelfish tank. If you talk to Rick Pruess you can get about any plant you want on order but standard stock is pretty robust. Don't expect white anubias but anything you could expect someone to carry they have.
Did they have any freshwater shrimp in? That is one place they lack. It is pretty crazy there on the weekends but weekdays are more reasonable. I love looking at the poision dart frogs. They have tadpoles-adult frogs for you to see. |

Glad to see this thread seeing life.
Welcome Brian, Hope the tank running is going smoothly, and the new one does the same.
