photography gurus, need some input

I'm looking to get a digi to take some tank photos. I'm not financially ready to jump into the DSLR arena yet but I wan't something more than a simple P&S. I'm looking on CL for some decent used cameras and came across a Canon PowerShot A590IS for $60. Is this a good starter camera? From a little research I've done it looks like it should suit my needs pretty well for the time being. I did some looking around on the internet for this camera and they're selling from $180-$215 so I think $60 is a pretty good deal.

I'm gonna go look at it as soon as I hear back from the seller but just thought I'd ask the "pros" if this might be a good buy.

guy wanted to meet up this morning so I bit the bullet and bought it. We'll see how it works out. If anything I can flip it for what I paid for it.
