Hello everyone, my name is Ed from Markham, Canada. I was introduced to this site by another member. My background is on marine tank. After so many years keeping fish and coral, I like to go back to freshwater which I had done when I was a kid. Obviously that was a lot different from what we have today. My desire to try setup a freshwater tank was inspired by a visit to the Sumida Aquiarium in Tokyo the past Christmas

where Mr Amano setup a few amazing tanks.





From looking at the members gallery, I am sure I will learn a lot from everyone here.

Hi Ed. Hamilton here. A great local forum for the GTA is http://www.gtaaquaria.com/forum/index.php A lot of us hang out on there, you'll find a B/S section like here with plants, fish, tanks, etc. Us shrimpers usually have meeting now and again to trade/buy/sell shrimp, plants, etc.

There is also a great planted tank store in Markham called http://www.aquainspiration.com/ They have lots of stuff.

There is also lots of auctions in the area throughout the year, the Hamilton/waterdown one being a fairly big one with tonnes of things on sale for the auction.

thank you, I am actually member of gtaaquaria but mainly hangout at the marine section. Will definitely include the freshwater forum now. I had been to AI many times since I live very close by. As matter of fact, I will get a starfire tank from them.

Hi Will,

I haven't get my tank and still deciding if I should get a nano or a 3 feet. The other equipment like filter, lights, co2 kits are ready. The location also to be decided. I will post my build thread once everything in place.
