Just wanted to throw in a quick post to tell a fellow Pittsburgher that they've got a great tank...

...and also that I've got a brother & sister to your orange australe killifish in my office tank. The folks at Oddball would be so proud...

Since my last post till this picture was taken last night I have added Ammania gracilis, macranda red, and rottala wallichii.

The new growth on the wallichii is really skinny (short leaves).

Brought a bunch of the Myriophyllum mattogrossense to the local planted tank club meeting and brought home some:

Murdania sp. red

Hygrophila odora

and Acmella repens

Full tank:

Got an LED light (though I'm still getting used to the reflections off the surface and glass top).

Moved the pointy rock on the left over a couple of inches and moved some plants around.

They all eventually jump out. Always.

I've given up on hatchets. Even with a full canopy with just a small area cutout for the HOB filter, they still managed to suicide themselves. I even found a crispy dead guy wedged in between the canopy and the trim of the tank, an area mere millimeters wide. That was a one in a million jump to accomplish that.

Really like the tank! Bigger rocks helped it a lot!

I love the way this has evolved. As we are all seeing, when you scape with stem plants it never looks the same twice. This is okay - maybe even more than okay since it IS the hobby.

You might need to say goodbye to that redwood though.

Hey Tom,
Yeah, I took off the lid and hung a separate light to let it grow up out of the top to see if it would flower but I don't like having so much water evaporate everyday so I just cut it in half and put the top in my 30 gallon grow out tank. It has like 5 side shoots starting to grow out of it.

How has the GLA regulator held up? Much adjusting with BPS?

I haven't had to touch the needle valve in months. I'm now using more bps than I can count though. I only ever had the one problem when I gassed the fish that I described here but I still think it was just a little clog from using an old CO2 tank, not the regulator's fault. I also have still not needed to refill the tank which I am glad for.

Played around with some photo ideas for maybe entering a contest. The rope light I had laying around, but did not give the star effect I was sort of hoping for. It just looks like someone had some rope light laying around.

Then played around with a little green spot.
