How to become a planted tank guru?

The above comments by scapegoat are right on the mark, imho.

I've spent close to 3 years 'studying the pros' - on 6 different forums, for lack of a better way to put it, and after about 6 months I believe I got to know who some of the gurus were, by looking at their photo posts, asking questions, and getting answers that really made sense to me.
And I tried out what they said, and their suggestions worked.

Those people always seemed focused and calm, gave very good answers to simple or difficult questions, and really appeared to be sincere in wanting to help people avoid the problems and pitfalls of the hobby.

And their pics were the ultimate proof that they knew what they were doing - forget the post count - some didn't say much, or very often, but when they did, people obviously listened - judging by the commentaries & questions which came afterward.

What we don't know of course, is how many PM's these people received. They're to be applauded for fostering the hobby the way they do !

It's an auto display once you hit certain post count.
I personally like my own display until my subscription recently need something to get adjusted, it went back to the default label.
