is it okay to keep one bala shark with some tetra's, I have a 135 G tank as well and my co-worker is giving her fish because it's on a 10G hexagon tank.

Bala sharks get pretty big, and they prefer a few of their own kind, but 1 would still be fine in a 135.. in fact, he'll be pretty happy.
Keep in mind that the shark "might" eat the tetra's when he's bigger. My sharks are fine even with some smaller rasbora's, but no two fish behave the same.
