Fissidens Fontanus

I'm looking to pick up some Fissidens to try to make a carpet effect with it. Just wondering if it grows laterally, or will I have to trim it as it grows and plant the cut off bits in order to get it to spread?

check out my "Wall of Sun" journal.

I have 2 huge fiss carpets. I mounted it on 3x3 ss mesh. It is actually is growing off the mesh and onto the AS.
