Dangeruos led light?

Led is relative new in our hobby, if you do a simple search on google on dangeruos led or led eye damage you will find articles that might confirm that led could be dangeruos.

What about our led that is used for lightning aquariums? Is there any reason to be worried? Any aquarists out there that have experienced any problems?

I think that any strong light can be dangerous if you look at the source directly too often or for too long.

I would not look too long at a T5HO tube either. I wonder if the same was not said about T5HO tubes in the beginning.

As long as you take the proper precautions (i.e. wiring up the LEDs safely, using the appropriate heat sinks, not looking into the LEDs when they are in operation, etc), there is nothing to worry about.

If you want to talk about dangerous, let's talk about that big ball of glowing hydrogen in the sky. If you let the light from that ball hit you for too long you can be badly burned, up to second degree burns. If you limit the time you allow it to hit you, but let it hit you nearly every day until you are 30, you can develop severe skin cancer. And, if you look directly at it, you can be blinded. Maybe we should look for a less bright ball of hydrogen?

LEDs are usually very bright only within a short distance. After a couple feet away the brightness is not that intense.
