keeping the glass clean
Mr. Clean magic eraser...Original only. No chemicals at all. Just sink it in the tank, wring it out, start wiping. It can even be used IN the tank with the livestock and everything left in.

For cleaning windows and mirrors around the house, I usually just use a (reasonably) clean rag and give the glass a good dry scrubbing. If that doesn't work, or if the surface is unusually dirty, I'll just do the same with a damp rag, and again with a dry rag. This works pretty well, and doesn't leave any noticeable streaks.
For the tank, a lot of times I'm dealing with hard water spots/scale. If the above doesn't work, I'll just use a spray bottle with some vinegar. Vinegar seems to work pretty well for me, it's cheap, and generally useful. |

i use vodka to clean a TON of other stuff (and outside of tank as well) I'll add it next time i make my cleaning solution. i use microfiber, but some use paper towel (i'm a envrio girl so.. reusable all the way) -- i put paper towel over vodka bottle turn upside down to wet towel then wipe outside glass. cleans great and nothing can get in tank.

Just a clean microfiber towel works great for me, the kind they sell for polishing your car usually 3 for $5.

Another vote for Microfiber or chamois - both work great even with just water.
