USPS. No Saturday home delivery. Was priority mail box. Shippers beware!
For everyone to know!
I shipped plants out to someone with an estimated delivery date of Saturday as per usual, since I shipped packages Tuesday/Wednesday. The box was held Saturday/Sunday and got delivered on Monday. Written on the box was something to the extent of "No more Saturday delivery" I have just modified my ship days and will no longer send packages estimated to be delivered on a Saturday. I suggest everyone does the same as well. Looking into things, small post offices can decide to cancel weekend delivery entirely depending on the number of packages going out. Not sure if it was a fluke since it just started but its still a mess! -Gordon

Yep, I am on a rural route and we often don't get mail at all if our mail carrier calls in sick because there are only a limited number of substitute carriers.. I think occasionally she is even pulled off our route to fill in for other carriers. I know that if I don't get mail by the usual time and I am expecting a package, if I call the post office sometimes I can go pick it up... but I live in a small town, I don't expect that would be possible in a big city.
