Macro Shrimp

My LFS uses small 1-2" red claw macros as feeder shrimp. They are 25c a pop. I heard they are dangerous to small fish. Is this true? How many if any would fit in a 3g jar/tank?

Are you sure they're red claw macros?

I'd say one would be good for a 3 gallon, they're more territorial and beastly than your average dwarf shrimp. Also, yes they'll grab ahold of a slow fish and take a ride, possibly murder them in their sleep, etc. It's what I'd do if I were a red claw macro anyway.

I'm pretty sure they're macros. Or it's a mix of ghost and red claws. They had a few they put in their moss tank that were 2-3" large with pretty scary claws.

They looked like this

Only reason I asked is because dominant ghost shrimp can also grow scary red claws. But yeah, I'd still stick with only one in a 3 gallon

Default Macro Shrimp

Yea I think that's a ghost shrimp...some of them have a pair of claws on them. Red claws usually go for more money than just $0.25 a pop
