What ferts do u you use in yr shrimp tank?

Really interested to know what ferts u guys use in yr shrimp (only) tank.

My tanks are 30-40 litres with critters such as CRS, CBS, Snow white, Rili, Sakura, Yellow Neo's, etc.External filters so the water flow is good. Temp. are 23 degrees constant during winter summers its quite hot here so with fans I have tanks temp. bet. 25-26 degrees. Lights are on for 8 hrs daily I use regular day light bulbs and one tank has white and blue Led lights 8000K.

I have mosses and low demanding plants like diff.kinds of moss, java fern, anacharis, guppy grass, etc

I use 2 drops of JBL 24/7 abt. 2-3 times a week and Ferropol 2.5ml once a week after water change of 15-20%

I've used Osmocote root tabs before as well as had a high tech tank with a full daily PPS dosing schedule using dry ferts with no adverse effects on the shrimp. In fact, I think I had my best breeding in that tank.

I use the micro/macro mix from aquariumfertilizers.com and have had no ill effects.

None, after I had a mass die off in my PFR tank when i first started that i could not explian but fertz. So since then I may throw a Osmocote root tab in the the substrate or two, but nothing in the water.

Is osmocote shrimp safe?

I don't think fertz hurts, but usually the CO2 is something I would check to make sure you have no more than a 1 bubble per sec (or 1 bubble per 2 sec) rate.

but my shrimps are tanks (PFR and TT) and so I'm not sure about the more sensitive crystal shrimp

I had a lot more than 1bps and didn't have an issue. My drop checker would be very light green to yellow during lights on and the shrimp did fine. Like I said above, I think that tank actually gave me the best breeding I've ever had in any of my shrimp tanks.

jobes plant food spikes i just cut a small slice off the end of one of the sticks and push it under the substrate. shrimp safe i have seen my crs pick at it when i worked some loose rescaping a tank
