Many are farmed, some are wild caught- none are coming in as the right fish, lol

FYI, some of the wholesalers here have stated the same thing.These guys know what they are doing and doing it on purpose. They are lying and selling what they have, rather than what the customer wants.

Better to be honest and just say no, we are out.

im tagging along with this thread bc i too have been looking for chili rasboras and cant find them anywhere....so im going to go with merahs bc i just want a red nano fish for my 12g.

will also be picking up some uropthalmoides

I've been looking for them since October with no success here or with the LFS.

The question for me is why they're out. Is there a huge demand spike or a crash in supply (overfishing, disease, market manipulation)?

the popularity of this fish has skyrocketed, I am sure it is a matter initially of demand being larger than the supply can support. From what I understand, one importer has gotten some and they were MINISCULE, meaning they are working on increasing their supply but that it will likely be some time before there are those of a decent size, and quality, available again from the farms in Singapore.

My "friend" who got them only got 100 of the 800 ordered, as well. We will see.

Have you considered the strawberry rasbora (naevus)? They look very similar to merah and I do have them in stock.

Shipping would depend on quantity, but for up to about 20 would be approximately $19 for second day shipping by 11am, or $37 for overnight shipping.
Once spring hits, i can ship ground to you next day for about $14, but this time of year, the trucks get too cold.
