Ben's "Forest's Edge"

Hey guys - this is my first attempt at a heavily planted high tech tank I call "Forest's Edge". Inspired by many other's tanks, idea is to eventually have a nice thick vegetation and branches coming from the right back corner of the tank and diminish down to the left corners.

Tank and specs as follows:
Tank - 15 gallon rimless low-iron
Aquaticlife T5 light fixture 36 watts
Aquatek co2 mini @ 1 bps
Aquaclear 20 gallon HOB filter with Purigen 100ml pack

Current plants as follows:
Amazon Swords x 2
Java Fern x 3
Varioua Anubis x 5
Potomogeton Gayi x 2

Any advise/tips on scape and/or anything else appreciated!!

4 days after and the glosso is growing fast!! Some browning on Anubias and Amazon leafs.. Assuming new tank syndrome?

I think it looks great too - I especially love the anubias. You may want to rethink the amazon swords though - they will get huge, far too big for your tank, and the roots will get so large they will be impossible to get out without undermining the whole substrate (unless you were to cut the plants free and leave the roots behind).

I see what you're saying about the swords, one of the leaves is already at the surface! Any suggestions on an alternative background plant that will work with my approx. 9 - 11 inch sand to surface height? Looking to stay with my leafy theme on that back corner.

Crypts are a favorite of mine, what about a Crypt Wendtii? Some come in a deep green/bronze or reddish color. The edges of the leaves are somewhat rippled and I think they lend a different color and texture to a tank. I don't know if they get too big though - mine are in larger tanks so they don't look so tall to me - lol

Crypts sound like a great idea for my size tank. Thanks for the suggestion. When my amazon outgrows the tank, I'll look for some Crypts in my LFS!
