Crinum calamistratum Help
I recently purchased a Crinium calimastratum for my planted cichlid tank. I think it it one of the most beautiful plants i have ever seen. I have other plants in the tank that are thriving marvelously. I currently have these other plants
Scientific Name / Common Names - Cabomba pulcherrima / Purple Cabomba - Vallisneria americana / Water Celery - Cabomba caroliniana / Green Fanwort - Ceratophyllum demersum / Hornwort - Rotala macranda / Red Japan - Hydrotriche hottoniiflora - Alternanthera reineckii / I use eco complete substrate and i am doing dry ferts - KHO3 -MgKPh along with -Flourish comprehensive (SEACHEM) -Trace (SEACHEM) Light is being timed for 6 hours daily at this time Running DIY CO2 yeast/sugar generator. Everything in the tank beside the C. calimastratum is thriving and i don't know if the plant was weak due to shipping to the fish store i bought it from or something else. Any advice or help in advance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Try root tabs. I use Pfertz, seachem bought at a LFS will do. They seem to be heavy root feeders.

My experience is that this plant takes a little longer than most to establish itself. They might lose a number of outer leaves but as long as some new ones are coming in too you should be fine. Once it gets going it spreads a fairly broad root system so the root feeding idea makes sense.

Yes this plant is finicky. Everytime you replant it or move it around it will take awhile for it to get going again. But yes it establishes a huge root system.

Thank you for the advice guys. I ended up taking the plant back to the store i bought it from and exchanged it for a bigger and healthier one. I have set my root fertz in place though and i have placed it in a location with plenty of water flow. I have read that the plant thrives nicely with water current and i did not have that previously. The plant is truly beautiful, hopefully it can thrive and grow with the changes i have made, the plant i currently have came with two bulbs already growing from it on the sides!
