20 Gallon Long Tank Journal

This is my 20 gallon long that I just started just two days ago.

Equipment:
-Petsmart 20G long tank
-Dual Sponge Filter with Tetra Air Pump
-Aqua Clear HOB
-DIY Paintball CO2
-Nova Extreme T5HO 2x24W fixture with one 10,000K bulb and one 6700K plant growth bulb
-ADA Africana 9L Bag

Flora:
-Ludwigia
-Eichornia Diversifolia
-Glossostigma elatinoides
-peacock moss

Right now my plans are just to grow the hell out of the tank while its cycling and the the glosso transitions from submersed to immersed. Any help or advice would be appreciated!!

Hello mittttal,
I first would like to thank you in supporting Petsmart… I work there in the Manteca, Ca store. The tank looks good and welcome to the site.

Loving the rocks. I think Myriophyllum simulans would look nice behind the rock on the left.

I would like to know more about your paintball Co2. For I want to build 1 for about $50

i'll be honest, i looked at the first result on google for "diy paintball co2" (still the same result) and followed the exact instructions. it is a plantedtank threat that has the exact part numbers and pictures. on his diy he stated that you need a DUAL hole ASA valve, but i decided to not put a PSI gauge and found a single hole ASA valve for cheaper. Other than that, it works pretty effortlessly, just need a good amount of teflon tape.

And any idea where to get the myriophyllum simulans? I agree it would look sick!

I have been searching here and googling. Still don't see how to make 1 for less than $90. Got a link to the thread, where you bought parts?

Get a good number of my plants from local aquarium club. Perhaps there is 1 in your area.

rotala indica

1 siamese algae eater
1 zebra nerite snail

the carpet is filling in pretty well, but having some algae problems. any ideas as to how i can get rid of the flowy green algae that moves to a current?

changed it up a little bit and had some issues with GSA but it seems to wearing off after dosing some K2HPO4. glosso was trimmed heavily and replanted in areas with excessive GSA.

-added Alternanthera reineckii in the back. got a couple of stems from a friend.
-added 4 neon green rasboras

got a pair of german blue rams, this is the male (approx. 6 months old)

i just started EI dosing with dry fertilizers so hopefully that should ramp things up. plants were losing color from N, P, & K deficiency.
