Cichlids in a planted tank?

Tanks for all the great advice. I am just geting started with the Tank. I will be doing a rockscape, so I will use crypts/swords. I am in no rush to get the fish in the tank so the plants can form a good root structure. I will post as I progress. Here is the blank canvas...

I will post a pic of the plants that are in my Peacock Cichlid tank if you like. I have a few yellow labs in there but they behave pretty much the same as the Peacocks.

Also have a 46 gallon planted with Angelfish and a 150 gallon planted with Discus and Angels. Both substrates are 90% covered by some form of plant.
