Switching to dry fertilizer
The last few days I have been browsing the greenleafaquarium.com website. I was wondering is the green fert pack all I need? I was thinking it would make it easier to make my own root tabs and would last me way longer from what others say.
40g breeder 2x36 t8 5500k dirt capped with pea gravel 10g water change once every week or 2 seachem comp/iron once every week or 2 |

For water column dosing, the chemicals that are contained in the "Green Fertilizer" package will suffice.
You may want to look at a GH booster (which is usually just a mix of calcium, magnesium and potassium sulfates), depending on your water chemistry. For root tabs, you will want to look into what other people are using. If you are making the switch to dry chemicals, you will not need the Seachem Comprehensive/Iron.

Thanks for the info. I'm kinda pumped about trying something new on my tank. I'll have to look up some methods of adding it to my tank and how much. I seen some awhile back but forgot what it said.

Here is a calculator to figure out your dosages. I use it to calculate how much to add to a liter of distilled water so I can dose 15 mls (.5 OZ) per day. I use the EI daily method but the calculator can do regular EI, PPS pro, and PMDD as well.
http://calc.petalphile.com/ I use the following bottles, they also marked in milli liters. http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/ite...=searchresults |
