Fuzzy White Stuff on CO2 output in water.

We use bread yeast and sugar for our CO2, very new to it, we've been using it since Sat. We disperse it by a tube and airstone tucked under our submarine. Is it reacting with the airstone? Or is it a fungus? I'll put a pic soon.

It is some strange fungus that is part of the yeast DIY CO2. Harmless, but unsightly. If you let it get too out of control, it could clog your airstone.

I used to have this problem running the air hose straight to a airstone, Now I don't. I ran the soft airline hose to a hard plastic tube that I had into my diffuser...now now more white stuff! Don't know why it works but it does, been going strong for 8 months

Try making a DIY bubble counter with a Gatorade bottle, some rigid tubing, flexible tubing, and some silicone (you can find how to do this all over the internet). It will act as a gas separator and will help you separate the white fuzz you're looking at from the CO2 so it doesn't end up in the tank - only in the bottle. Just make sure to clean off the fuzz every once in a while before it solidifies and clogs up your airhose... Otherwise one night you'll hear a BOOOOOM!!!! and you'll wake up to the sight of alcohol, yeast and sugar all over your apartment. Not to mention the smell...

+1 on that gas seperator. Worked for me. I just used some bottle with water and fed the CO2 into that to bubble up.
