Yeah most LFS stores use the poly bags. Let me go back through your posts and see if anything stands out.

Do you have an airstone in the tanks or filter? Also, have you tested nitrite?

No airstone or filter....it has plants etc and was hoping to not have any airstones/filters etc.

0 nitrites and 0 ammonia

So it's 0 on ammonia, nitrite AND nitrate right? You mentioned nitrAte and ammonia earlier, just making sure you tested for all of them.

Adding an airstone can help, oxygen helps keep stress down allegedly. And it's just good to have in there for water circulation.

Oh sorry it was a typo when I first said nitrate I meant nitrite.....there is less than 5 for nitrate in the water.

I was hoping to get away with just a simple bowl setup and no tubes etc as I have seen many people do them on here. Guess I will have to try that or not worry about shrimp in the bowl.

Well you don't have to KEEP the airstone in. Just run it for the first week or two to oxygenate the water and keep stress levels down. Then when they settle in you can go without

I have a feeling that keeping shrimp in a tank is a little easier than a bowl like this

So strangely enough, the 5 remaining shrimp in my bowl are doing fine since the last couple died.

In fact I have even seen 4 babies swimming around which is pretty cool.

Still had a couple recent deaths in the 10 gallon but water parameters are about the same. I suppose it is just possible to get a bad batch of them.
