Other Thiaridae?

(PICTURES-- http://mkohl1.net/thiarida.htm )Now, we all now about mts. Some hate them, some love them. But what about their relatives? Are their relatives parthenogenic as well? I wanted to find out, so after a little digging, I did.

All relatives of the common trumpet snail appear to be all female, as well. Melanoides granifera is a close relative that looks great, alot better then the common malaysian trumpet snails. They are also diurnal, and spend a fair amount of time up and around the tank. They are the only one which has ever appeared in the hobby as far as I can tell.

I think it would be cool to have an tank with various Thiaridaes. And if you look at the website below, some of those snails look fantastic! The fact that they would be easy to breed would be icing on the cake as well!

Does anyone know if any of these have reached the hobby?

"The general range of the thiaridae is circum-tropical, and many of the species are extremely widespread. Their dispersal is facilitated by the fact that all are parthenogenic females. Melanoides tuberculata (Müller 1774), similar to M. maculata, below, is a common aquarium snail. Among the genera are the following;

ive seen both the black shell and light shell trumpet snails and also some that had green bodies. so not sure how they fit in that group but have seen them. mine tend to get a few points on the shell but didnt really see a pic on the link you provided. ill try to get some pics soon if you want

I had thiara winteri for a while, I believe it is also a trumpet snail.

They are cool!

Also, tylomelania are pretty popular in the hobby now.
