12-16" plants?
I was wondering if there's any plants that are commonly used for the hiding of intakes and other unnatural objects. I was kinda hoping to use something that simply arrived at at a respectable height when fully grown out, instead of a plant I'd have to trim constantly. Does this exist? or am I stuck trimming anacharis or something?

Java fern, my narrow leaf grows to about 10"? Some kinds of crypts stay about the right size.

Vals fill in pretty quick in good light. Bunches of stem plants can be used to cover up. Heaters/intakes too.

If you want something tall now without waiting for it to grow to that height check out http://www.plantedaquariumscentral.com/ ... some of the plants state the height at shipping. And they are accurate. I've ordered a couple tall plants that were the height mentioned or taller. Here's one: http://www.shop.plantedaquariumscent...BALANSAE01.htm, Cryptocoryne balansae says approximately 14" tall but not sure that's quite what you're looking for since it may be tall but not real bushy. But there could be others that might be more suited to your needs. Not all state the height at shipping. You might be able to email him about specific plants and ask before ordering. He ships quick and packs really good to survive heat/cold but cold temps is still something to keep in mind during this time of year. He's located in Hereford, AZ so you might be ok.
EDIT: Ok that's weird ... I didn't see your final post stating you'd already bought something until after I replied. Oh well, day late and dollar short. LOL |
