Yes dont go near duckweed..... any kind of moss I have heard is great!

So something like pool Filter Sand for red Cherries? with different kinds of moss and maybe some floating stuff.

Keep in mind the darker your substrate the more vivid the color of your neos because they will "try" to blend in. Just about any kind of moss is great!

Some people use black diamond, I use black blast from Menards. It's used for sandblasting.
