Ficus repens in shrimp tank?
Wondering if anyone has kept this in their Shrimp tank. I found some today and it looks pretty cool but I just want to make sure it's okay for my shrimp

It works in an aquarium too. Or at least the stuff I bought does. The person at the les was unsure of what it was and searched around until someone knew. It was growing in and out of the tank. Looks really cool! I just put it in my tank and my oebt instantly started eating it. I tried to research it and couldn't find anything so I removed it in case it was toxic to the shrimp. They literally swarmed to it.

I'm not kidding one jumped out of the tank trying to eat it. I had to very carefully scoop it up and place it back in the tank.

I'd be surprised if it adapted to prolonged submergent conditions but new ways of growing plants are found all the time.
I think it would be best near the surface where it can grow out of the tank much like a Hydrocotyle. I grow Selaginella in one of my tubs both emersed and submerged but don't think it would grow continually submerged just as an example. On another note I grew Ficus Repens in a terrarium once and I ripped it all out b/c once it got established it overwhelmed everything, it was like a mini Kudzu!

Good to know that it over grew the tank. I did know that it needed to be in an out of the water. They sold it to me really cheap. All I can find is its toxic. I dunno if it's toxic to shrimp but I don't want to find out with my OEBT. Im gonna trash it.
