Eh, I'd remove the plants, drain tank to about 1/4 water left, then just dump in boiling water.

Or just add a fish that loves shrimp

Agreed.

CO2 is heavier than atmospheric air. With the tank emptied to the substrate, drop in some dry ice and let it melt.

Of course this will mess up your cycle, but everything in that tank will die.
