I know all the rules about African Clawed Frogs. I know, trust me. But my wife can be very persuasive. So now, along with my 3 1 year old ACF's lives a lovely female Red Cap Oranda (Her name is Kenny Powers, due to her lovely mane).
She's been with us for about 2 months now and they seem to be one big happy family. I've noticed no aggression on either side. With that said, here's the specs: Equipment Filter: Fluval 206, DIY Bio-filter, 2 Hydro 5 sponge filters (w/powerheads) Flow: 2 Maxi-jet 1200's, Hydor Pico 240 Lighting: Marineland Reef Capable LED Heater: 100w Substrate: Mix of Floramax and sand, also there's crushed coral spread through out. Flora Water Wisteria Rotala Macandra "green" Various Crypts whose names escape me (all growing well though, they've tripled in quantity since I put them in) Some mystery stems which I received free with a package Fauna 1 Female Albino ACF (5") 1 Male Reticulated Albino ACF (4") 1 Male Wild type ACF (4") 1 Red cap Oranda (~4") Probably 1000's of MTS No dosing of ferts other than Flourish tabs. I add Indian Almond leaves for the tannins and ph lowering properties to balance out the crushed coral I used to keep my PH above 5.5. Most of the plants in the front need to grow out a bit, there was at least twice as many plants in this tank before I did a trim a few days ago. I'd been waiting till I could afford a hardscape to redo the entire thing but it was sooo messy I just couldn't wait any longer. It's still messy, but at least I can recognize where one plant ends and another begins!
