For sure! I have duckweed on the surface right now, i have not let it get pity of control though. I was planning on trying to spawn the gouramis a soon add they all matured. I can't tell for sure yet how many of each sex i have. 2 are males for sure so we will have to see.

For mine all I did was move them from my main tank to my a section of my sump with no surface agitation, a few days later and eggs everywhere. You can tell if the female is ready because she will look like she has a small marble in her stomach (at least compared to the males).
I always have my tank at 78, but increasing the temp might help too I just don't know. |

Time for a little update on what has been going on with the tank. I have acquired about 20lbs of Lace Rock that have now been placed into the tank and I have completely redone the entire aquascape. I drained almost all the water and pulled out all the plants and fish and went to work. I got the Lace Rock in anticipation of getting some GBR's for the tank. I am thinking around 6 or so. Enough talk, here are the pictures! Please feel free to give me your input! Good or bad!

I am still waiting on 5 pots of Chain Sword to put in the foreground all around the front of the rock and up on the little plateau that I made just left of center. Should bring it all together and give the tank some depth finally!! I think the rock helped give some depth as well but the Chain Sword will finish it off i think!

I have six GBR's coming on Wednesday from matt13, 3 male and 3 female. I think that will finish up the fish for now. In total i will have 4 pearl gourami, 4 ottos, 3 sae, 10 olive nerite snails and 2 assassin snails.

Your tank is looking great. The rocks add a visual punch.
Your fish are beautiful. They look happy and spoiled. |

Very clean and crisp! Nice job. What plant do you have floating on your surface? Duckweed? Also, what type of paint did you use on your background? I have the plastic rolled stuff from Petco, but sometimes water drips behind it during tank maintenance. Was thinking of painting but not sure what paint to use.

Why assassin snails? They will take down your nerites btw....
Other than that, I like the tank :P What's the tall thing plant in the back? Giant hairgrass? I kinda like it looking at it now

My nerites are dime to nickle size and my assassins are only about 3/8's of an inch as of now. I'm not worried about them eating the nerites yet. The assassins are in there to take care of the pond snail problem.
The tall plant in the back is nana vals. I can't wait for it to fill in for a nice green drape. Thank you for the compliment by the way! Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 |

My German blue rams finally made it here a couple days ago all alive and swimming! Thanks to Matt and Mark (matt13 on tpt). The fish are great! I have four pairs and they are 3 and a half months old. Pictures to come soon!
